Who he was to Brigham Young
Ritual son, and a witness to how the system actually worked. At an 1847 council he testified to the bargain by which John D. Lee gave up Emmeline Free to Young - that Young promised Lee he 'never should fall, but that he would sit at his right hand in his kingdom.'
How it ended
No rupture on record. Grant led the 1856 handcart rescue that went out after the Willie and Martin companies, and died in 1876.
